My infatuation with Newfoundland and Labrador’s military aviation history began some forty years ago when I moved to the airport town of Gander, the “Crossroads of the World.” This interest quickly expanded to include all the province’s wartime airfields. My current research is focused on the activities of the Royal Air Force Ferry Command Gander unit, 1940-1946.
